Babymetal PNC Bank Arts Center Concert reviews
Did Jerry drink too much coffee?
On, I saw Babymetal at the Moran Theatre in Jacksonville, FL (which he jokingly called the Moron). He is a master comedian and knows how to hold a stage. Most times, he was in a frantic mode all night long from the get-go, literally screaming the jokes, making a lot of wild gestures, and interacting with the audience - but not in a pleasant way. I don't know if he had too much coffee or what, or is just tired of doing these jokes. It was unlike anything I've seen from him on TV ever. It was like he was doing a bad caricature of himself. I actually knew 80-90% of the jokes, which also diminished my experience, and so just goes up there and spits them out. However, it was not enjoyable and very odd. It was a relief when it ended. I saw John Mulaney a couple days earlier and he was much better and much more enjoyable by far.
